We went on our church’s Young Marrieds retreat this weekend. We missed last years retreat because of traveling for work and we missed the year before that because it was right before we joined Church at the Ranch… so this year we were SO GLAD that nothing got in the way of us going on the retreat!
The retreat was Bear Trap Ranch – just south west of Colorado Springs… a 30 minute drive up a winding dirt road just outside the Broadmoor. Before heading to the retreat, we got up early on Saturday morning to take the back road to Woodland Park so we could get some good food at the Donut Mill! Then we walked around Manitou Springs before heading to the Retreat.
10 out of the 15 couples in our Young Marrieds class came to the retreat! We had some great fellowship time, great worship and took some great pictures. We had s’mores by the fire Saturday night and went for a great hike today. We had a great time with all the couples and enjoyed being in God’s great outdoors!! This was the finale of our “Fireproofing your marriage” series. We had showed the movie at church for an outreach night and had a 4 week series based on topics from the movie. The retreat was a good time to close on the series.
On the way home, we stopped in Colorado Springs to have dinner with Lori’s parents. It was a quick visit, but a good time to see them.
