Nighttime in DC
Nighttime in DC

As most of you know, we took a trip to DC, Pennsylvania and New York last September and soon after that our computer crashed and we lost all pictures from that trip – except for the super-low resolution pics I’d posted here on our web page. When we found out that we both needed to be out on the East Coast for meetings last week – we decided we’d make a quick vacation out of it. So we flew out to DC on Friday night. That way we’d have Saturday, Sunday & Monday to enjoy a little vacation before parting ways for each of our meetings.

We stayed with Victoria on Friday night and hung out with her all day on Saturday. It was yucky and rainy, so we didn’t walk around to too many of the monuments. We had lunch in Georgetown and then went and hung out at an outlet mall – fun shopping! We stayed in a hotel in DC on Saturday night – it was near Dupont Circle and close to a Metro station of course, so we headed out to see some of the monuments at night because it had stopped raining!

We woke up Sunday morning to beautiful weather! We walked all around the monuments and got some great pictures. Zach had a lot of fun with photography and taking different shots, etc. While walking around the Mall, we saw the Marine Corps Marathon – that was cool. After enjoying the time in DC, we headed to our next destination – Baltimore, MD. Zach had found a neat Bed & Breakfast there. We checked in and then headed downtown on a water taxi. The weather was still beautiful! We had a great meal – the famous Maryland Crab-cakes were yummy!!

While leaving Baltimore on Monday morning, we looked up where Charm-City-Cakes was located and drove by. I was hoping we could go inside and see THE ACE OF CAKES himself, but the sign on the door said you could only visit by appointment only. So I got a picture of the sign. haha!

We headed to Annapolis, MD just to see what was around there. We enjoyed walking around the little harbor shopping area and walked around the Naval Academy before heading back to DC. Monday evening we had dinner with Victoria again and then checked into Zach’s hotel – since his meeting was the next morning just down the street. Then I got up on Tuesday and drove to Valley Forge.

It was a great trip – even though it was rainy a lot of the time. It was nice to get “away” and enjoy being together in a place we really like! Check out the North East Trip Remix Photos page to see some of our pictures from the trip!
