Happy Easter everyone! We spent the day with our family – both Zach’s parents and my parents. We all went to church at Mission Hills Church. It was the first time for all of us to visit there. Our church, Cherry Hills Community Church, does an outdoor Easter service at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater every year. The weather was supposed to be yucky, so we decided that going to Mission Hills was the better option.
The service was packed! Luckily, our parents went before us to get some seats. They were able to get seats in the very back before we got there. We brought Ellie to service with us (yep, we’re that couple that hasn’t put our baby in the nursery yet!) so we needed to be as close to an exit as possible. Ellie did great during the service. She loved the music – she was kicking her feet like crazy! When the pastor started preaching and everyone was quiet, I had to hold her while standing by the door because she likes to grunt and was a little loud. Overall she did GREAT and the service was really good.
We came home and had a great Easter lunch with smoked brisket, potato salad, broccoli/cauliflower salad, fruit salad and bread. We finished off the lunch with another cookie cake! Zach loved the cookie cake for his birthday and really wanted another one. I decorated it with icing and sprinkles too! I can’t wait until Ellie is old enough to enjoy the decorations on a cake like this — and to help decorate too!!
