This weekend was full of thoughts about “this time last year…” It’s fun to think back and remember all the feelings and emotions surrounding this weekend last year. All the excitement awaiting our little bundle of joy. Wondering what our life would be like once she arrived. Wondering what our sweet baby would look like.
Here’s a quick recap of Ellie’s quick arrival: I woke up October 31st at 5:45 am, when my water broke. I hadn’t had any contractions before then. Once my contractions started, they intensified over the course of two hours. At 8:00 am we headed towards the hospital. Within an hour of being at the hospital, with less than 10 pushes, Ellie arrived! 9:12 am, weighing in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 19.5” long. Who knew that within three and a half hours this sweet baby would make her appearance!
Every hour, every day, every week and every month with Ellie has been such an adventure! We’ve laughed, cried and cheered as a family. We’ve had plenty of difficult days and difficult nights, but we’ve had so many more wonderful moments to outweigh the hard times. We’ve learned so much about our daughter – we’ve learned to roll with the punches and modify our schedules and plans to work for us. Of course, just when we think we have it figured out, things change!
Our sweet Ellie… what a wonderful year it has been. We are better people for having you in our lives! We love being your mommy & daddy! We can’t wait to see what each year brings as you play, laugh, grow and learn.
You are SUCH a happy baby! We couldn’t be more proud!
