Goodbye February

Just like January, February has now flown by! Here’s a quick re-cap of the past month.

In early February, we finally got our house refinanced. We had wanted to do it for a while – to get me on the loan and to get a better rate. It finally worked out and after hitting the slopes the first Friday in February, we came home and did our closing. After that, we had a nice dinner to celebrate – at Mizuna downtown. We think that’s our favorite NICE restaurant now.

We attended the last of Jessica & Curtis’ wedding festivities by going to their reception at Curtis’ mom’s house. It was fun to look at all the pictures from the week and enjoy the festivities with all our family.

Valentines weekend, as you saw in our last post, was Kim & Rick’s baby shower. It was so much fun to plan the party! We had a nice quite Valentines Day and made our “traditional” home-made pizza!

Last weekend, we hit the slopes again and had the most amazing weather. That was THE BEST powder day we have had in quite a few years. Zach demoed a pair of skis and I snowboarded. It was so much fun!! Saturday night, we went to our 5280 dinner at Fogo De Chao, another “all-you-can-eat-meat” place (like we went to last year) and we really enjoyed it! We played games Sunday night with Rick & Kim and Jake & Susan. It was fun to all get together, catch up and have a fun evening.

Zach went to Texas for a week of meetings this past week. He got to see lots of friends and family in the evenings, so that was nice for him. For me, work has become pretty crazy and last week I worked quite a bit of overtime. This next week will be just as busy. Tonight we have dinner at Elway’s – the last of our 5280 dinners for this year. We just love the 5280 deal!

Oh, and lastly, we watched almost all of the Winter Olympics. We had the DVR set up to record every Olympic event that was on NBC and in the evenings we would sit down and watch what we wanted and fast-forward through things we didn’t care about. We learned a lot about the different events and Olympians… we’ve never watched the Olympics this much!

That was our February… March will be just as busy – lots of work, skiing one last time, random travel for each of us for work, Zach’s cousin’s wedding in Texas and a Marriage Retreat with our young marrieds class at church. It will probably fly by just as quickly as January and February have! We’re enjoying our life! We are definitely blessed!
