Ellie’s Big Girl Weekend

shapeimage_1

Ellie had a big girl weekend!!

We turned her car seat around to face forward! We figured she was like two weeks away from turning two and it was close enough! She LOVES sitting forward! She talks to us so much more now – asking for more bumps and says “dada drive!” or “mama drive!” It’s really fun having her face forward to see what’s going on!

We took Ellie to see Finding Nemo in 3D at the movie theater on Saturday. She LOVES Nemo and we watch it at home all the time! This was her first movie at the theater and she loved it! She wasn’t a fan of the 3D glasses, but she did pretty good. About two-thirds of the way through she started to get antsy and didn’t want to sit anymore, so we just went ahead and left. It was a lot of fun and we’re so glad we went!

We can’t believe that Ellie is almost two-years-old! She’s talking so much these days! She tries to tell us stories and as we fill in the blanks and translate a bit, we get the whole story! Anymore she very rarely says things in one syllable! She has such a funny sense of humor and is just such a joy! We still have melt-downs each day, but the fun times definitely out-weigh the difficult times!! I put Ellie in time out twice this week and she actually did really well!! It’s pretty great to see some discipline working on her. We’ll see how things go!

She’s finally working on her “cheese” face!

Ellie says “HI!” to everyone we see – anywhere! At restaurants and shops, she just loves saying “hi”, multiple times. She’s so friendly!

Amber came to visit us on Friday morning. We had a great time chatting and Ellie had fun playing! It was great visiting with her!

My roommate from college, Carisa, came into town with her husband, Chad, on Friday afternoon. They were here visiting his sister, but we got to spend a few hours with them. Ellie just loved visiting and was such a good girl! I loved getting a few hours to spend with them! 🙂

Nothing much has changed with Ellie’s sleep patterns these days. We put her to bed between 7pm and 7:30pm and she’s usually asleep by 8pm. She rolls around a ton in her bed every night. I’ll look at her on the monitor and she’ll be half-on/half-off the bed. Then an hour later she’ll be back in bed in the other corner! It’s hilarious! She sleeps until 7:30-8am, which is not as late as she used to sleep, but she is is getting 12 hours of sleep! She’ll take a nap in the afternoons from about 1:30pm to 3:00pm. Sometimes a little longer sometimes a little shorter. She generally wakes up and instantly runs to the door yelling “mama!” Sometimes she just gets up and starts playing in her room very quietly – pulling all her clothes out of her drawers! haha!

Baby boy is growing and growing!! It’s getting harder and harder to do some things with Ellie, but it won’t be long until he’s here. We’ve been having lots of conversations with Ellie about her baby brother coming home. She seems to understand certain things, but it will still be very interesting when we bring him home!
